If ever we were all allowed to take our problems out in the open onto a table with the possibility of trading them around, I am sure that after a few minutes of conversation with others, everyone would quietly get his or her problems back and leave the table. We must understand that nobody has a perfect life, in fact, nobody has everything under control or sorted out.
Just as faces and facial features and expressions are so uniquely different, so too are our problems different in nature and extent. Never be jealous about what another man has because you never know how much he had to pay for it and how much he has paid to keep it. You don’t own half of the problems in this world. While secretly wanting to be like the other guy, a person is in serious prayer over that life which you take for granted.
Sometimes the people you envy are really just wanting to have the life which you live. Let me be content with what I’ve got and only enjoy what I have. You could have it all in life but just not be ungrateful.
