Unveiling the Secret Key to Everlasting Harmony
Unveiling the Secret Key to Everlasting Harmony
“Peace can not be defined as simply the absence of conflict or the lack of war; it is, on the contrary, a dynamic, alive force emanating from the very source and heart of God Himself.”
With all the heavy burdens from strife, incessant violence, and deep-seated discord amongst individuals and nations, peace is often an elusive goal in this world. However, hard as the challenges are, the Bible gives a tremendous promise of peace that “passeth all understanding” (Philippians 4:7).
That is to say, this peace surpasses what human beings can fully grasp or understand with their limited understanding. The question remains: what is this extraordinary peace, and how can we actively find it in our lives?
What is Peace, really?
Peace is not to be regarded as a transitory sentiment, nor a momentary halt in the confusions of strife; but rather, it is a deep and thrilling existence born of that close and living relationship to God. “Peace is the result of communion with God, the effect of righteousness, and the fruit of the Spirit.
Peace involves :
- Inner peace: The calm in the eye of the hurricane.
- Harmony with others: Coherence and empathy in relationships.
- Righteousness: Living by the standards of God.
- Spiritual connection: Intimacy with God through prayer and faith.
Why Peace is Important?
Peace is of utmost importance to our general well-being, in the quality of our relationships with others, and for our spiritual growth. Without peace:
- Anxiety and fear prevail.
- Relationships suffer.
- Our witness for God is destroyed.
- Spiritual growth is stifled.
Also, the sacred scriptures leave no doubt as to the importance and significance of the concept of peace:
Hebreos 12:14 says, “Pursue peace with all men, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.”
Without peace, there can be a cutting off of the relationship with God. Peace is not an optional extra—it is absolutely basic to any deep and abiding relationship with Him.
How to Live in Peace, as Much as It Is Possible While Interacting with All Individuals:
“Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly.” — Romans 12:16
Peace to have:
- Seek God: Make it the concern of your life to seek deep and genuine relations with Him through constant prayer, reading the Scriptures, and obeying His commandments.
- Forgive: Release grudges and resentments; choose to forgive others just as God forgives us.
-
Love unconditionally: Treat all people with kindness, compassion, and understanding.
-
Clothe yourself with humility: Take time to recognize your own limitations and see your dependence upon God.
-
Follow righteousness: Strive diligently in thy life and deeds to conform to the laws and teachings of God.
